Our team

"...the best upgrade of your life"

Dr. Ellen Crowe, President
She is our senior medical practitioner.  A summary of Dr. Crowe's experience and education is posted on her Bio page here.  Ellen has assembled a great team for you because that's just how she operates.  A hospital director of clinical services recently said  "...your scores and popularity are among the best of our ED (emergency department) providers, you really are a gift to the ED med staff."

Everyone at House Call Doctor Thousand Oaks, Inc. is dedicated to providing a superior level of attention with extended access to the medical team.

Corine Riedell, PA-C
Our Physician's Assistant comes to us from UC Davis School of Medicine.  She honed her skills in CA clinics caring for people who  never ever had a doctor -- seeing diseases and complications that others only read about in textbooks.   That's in addition to 13 years as a lab tech at Los Robles Regional Medical Center.  We like Corine's ability to mesh her clinical skills, years of matching test results to patient complaints and bedside skills that put patients at ease.  As Dr. Crowe's PA, Corine is able to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients, write prescriptions, stitch lacerations, give injections, IVs, and much more.  Corine is a published clinician and a wealth of knowledge.  She also holds a Masters in Public Health. We love having her here.

Dr. Roland Jacobs, Psychiatrist
Dr. Jacobs is an adult and geriatric psychiatrist who consults and treats our patients when needed.  He started as a Brooklyn native, raised in New Jersey, and received his medical degree from the Robert Wood Johnson - Rutger’s Medical School.   Roland completed his residency at UCLA and served as an Assistant Professor and Associate Research Psychiatrist at UCLA.   He developed and runs inpatient and outpatient programs in geriatrics, adult and adolescent psychiatry in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

Roland is a passionate skier and divides his time between Taos NM and here in Southern California.   His prior education includes a BA in Zoology, and a post-doctoral Scholar in Neuroscience.   Locally he spends significant time helping individual psychiatric patients and has also run psychiatric programs at five regional hospitals.  Even part time, we like the skills he brings to our home-bound and very private patients.

Beth Brown, PA-C
Beth’s background is Family Medicine with an emphasis on orthapedics and sports.  She trained at Mount Sinai Hospital, Women’s Health Care, Austin Family Health, and graduated with her Masters from Chicago’s Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine. Beth also carries a psychology degree from St. Louis University.  Like all of our providers, Beth is able to diagnose, treat, develop an entire plan of care, prescribe all medications up through Schedule II narcotics, plus cut and stitch as needed. Even though Beth’s winning smile and personality are part time here, she goes a long way to putting patients at ease even during difficult moments.

As more proof we hire over-achievers:  Beth is the SECOND one of us who graduated college at age 20.

Aaron Highsmith, PA-C

Aaron Highsmith is a great addition to our medical staff.  Aaron leveraged his prior 11,000 thousand hours of clinical experience to attend and graduate in 2007 from the Stanford University Medical School. From 1999-2006 he worked as respiratory care practitioner. During that time he worked multiple facets of healthcare, from attending high risk births and C-sections, to working at a world renowned burn center. He also cared for children to geriatrics medicine and even critical care transports.

As a PA-C, Aaron is licensed to diagnose, treat, suture, order X-rays, ultrasounds, CT, CAT scans, and fix all manner of illnesses or injuries, including prescribing all medications as appropriate.   He diagnoses and treats patients at three of the largest hospital Emergency Rooms in the region. We like his wealth o
f knowledge and experience.  He is an asset for House Call Doctor Thousand Oaks

Ana Harvey, Oncology RN
She focuses on our patients who require ongoing IV treatment or who have PICC lines installed.  That's a part time role, but Ana can find a usable vein even after everyone else has been unsuccessful.  First trained as a trauma RN, Ana graduated from Western University in 2007 and then specialized in oncology.   Ana passed her International Nursing Boards in 2013 and is licensed to work in any country in the world.

Nicole Pablo, MA

Our MA (medical assistant) is a 2015 graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from UCLA.  Nicole also just returned from a six month language immersion program working at rural medical clinics in Guatemala.

As a MA, Nicole prepares prescription refills for the licensed MD’s and PA-Cs, draws blood for labs, performs ECG tests, collects vital patient data and coordinates doctor's orders for patients.

If you are coming here as a primary care patient, this part may feel a little different than other medical appointments.   You may see Nicole a few days before your scheduled appointment — our goal is that the medical staff has lab and test results in their hand to discuss during your appointment.

She’s working with us for two reasons: Nicole likes our level of medical care, and in her off hours she can also shadow the rest of the medical team as she prepares for admission to a Physician Assistant Masters degree program in about a year.   Quite frankly we hope that by time she’s completed that in three years, that Nicole is only interested in working here at House Call Doctor Thousand Oaks.

Her prior experience also includes over a year as a MA for a large endocrinologist office, plus time as a nursing volunteer at UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital, and as a research assistant at UCLA.

Paul wears multiple hats.  In addition to being Dr. Crowe's husband, he does sales, scheduling, hiring, mobile medical technology,  operations processes, computer systems, billing, strategic planning, marketing, and advertising.   In his spare time Paul convinces medical vendors to re-write their code, or build smaller battery-powered equipment to support the mobile operations at House Call Doctor Thousand Oaks.
