Stella Cohen MD

Dr. Stella Cohen is a board-certified Pulmonary and Critical Care specialist providing expert, individualized care to patients with complex respiratory conditions across the Los Angeles area. She is affiliated with Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center and is known for her thorough evaluations, extended consultations, and thoughtful second opinions. Her clinical expertise includes bronchoscopy, advanced pulmonary imaging and diagnostics, management of mechanical ventilation, and bedside procedures such as thoracentesis and chest tube placement.

 

Dr. Cohen’s training includes a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at UC Davis and an Internal Medicine residency at UC San Diego, completed in 2014. She earned her medical degree from the Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, Israel, after graduating magna cum laude from New York University with degrees in Political Science and Pre-Med. She has worked and taught at leading institutions including UCLA, UC San Diego Medical Center, UC Davis, West Hills Medical Center, and Los Robles Medical Center. A former Clinical Instructor at UCLA, she continues to educate through lectures and speaking engagements, and in 2021 was named a Top Doctor by Los Angeles Magazine.

 

Beyond her hospital practice, Dr. Cohen also provides select patients with concierge-level house call care, supporting those with asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, and other serious respiratory conditions, as well as patients transitioning home after ICU or complex hospitalizations.

 

Dr. Cohen lives in Southern California with her family, where they enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors. Having planted deep roots in California, she combines her advanced expertise with a warm, patient-centered approach that enhances both care and quality of life.
